Private Amalfi Coast Tour By Minivan
Generally this tour lasts 8 hours. The driver will pick you from your villa, hotel or at the port, at the arranged time. He will be at your complete disposal for the whole tour giving you valuable advice on where to shop and taste typical products. During this time you will be able to use recharging points for mobile phones and cameras.
Our best itinerary includes stopping in Positano, Amalfi and then Ravello, which are the main tourist attractions. But you will be free to reverse the order or choose to stop in the other small villages that regulate the Amalfi coast. Along the world famous road that runs along the sea, you will stop in the most beautiful panoramic points to take souvenir photos and admire the Li Galli islands. A small archipelago made up of 3 islets: they were first purchased in 1924 by the Russian choreographer and dancer LĂ©onide Massine who built a magnificent villa on those ruins embellished by the architect Le Corbusier; then the property then passed to another famous Russian dancer, Rudolf Nureyev, until his death in 1993.
Finally you will reach Positano where, by agreement with your driver, you will have an hour of free time to explore the village, famous for shopping and colorful scenery. Until the Second World War it was a simple village of fishermen and sheep and goat breeders: today it has become a village famous all over the world. Your walk to the large sandy beach will take you through an array local clothes ceramics and other products.
After Positano, you will meet your driver to continue to Amalfi. During this time, you will pass through many villages such as Praiano, Furore with its fjord (UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997), Conca dei Marini with the Emerald grotto. You can choose to visit the latter, paying a ticket for entry, in agreement with your driver for the duration of the tour.
The driver will show you the meeting point in Amalfi, near the bus stop. The town is known for the Cathedral, maritime traditions and the type of paper called Bambagina produced only here. Amalfi had a lot of splendor during the period of the Maritime Republic, it was known all over the world and its people had important commercial relationships with different areas.
The Cathedral, is an ancient church, built in the 10th century that has undergone several changes over the centuries and different dominations, but the bronze doors are still those made in Constantinople in 1066. You can visit the church and you can take some beautiful photos on the staircase leading to the characteristic facade.
After a taste of some characteristic dessert, you can meet your driver again to reach the last stop of the tour: Ravello. The latter is a village built much higher on the coast, so you can admire splendid views from the window. The famous attractions of Ravello are Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. Both are famous for the wonderful gardens you can visit. Villa Rufolo, however, was also the place where the musician Richard Wagner had the inspiration to write the second act of Parsifal.
In the main square, you can enjoy a good coffee or an excellent cappuccino, before meeting your driver.
You just have to enjoy your tour and take endless photos. If you like, you can publish them by inserting our tags.
